The story of the Epic romance: Set in the 16th Century, ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ is the story of the epic romance between Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great and a fiery young Rajput princess Jodhaa. Directed & Produced by Ashutosh Gowariker, the director of ‘Academy Award’s nominated film ‘Lagaan’. It centers on the romance between the Muslim Mughal Emperor Akbar, played by Hrithik & his Hindu wife, Jodhabai, played by Aish. Acclaimed music composer A. R. Rahman composes the music. This film also represents the debut of newcomer Abir Abrar. Extensive research has gone into the making of this film which begun shooting at Karjat. in reality: Akbar's wife was never known as Jodhabai. The use of the name Jodhabai appears to have been a 19th Century by mistake. Her real name was Hira-Kunwari before & after marriage, she was known as Mariam-uz-Zamani.
